Happiness Club - Positive emotions, which one will you choose?

So, let's begin our journey to happiness by first defining it.

Happiness is a positive emotion. This positive emotion combines pleasure with the feeling that life is meaningful and worthwhile. Research tells us that experiencing positive emotions leads to many physical and mental benefits. But happiness isn’t the only game in town! There are many positive emotions out there that we can experience.

What came up for you? Do you experience some of these positive emotions and not others? Are there ones that come easier or harder for you?

Here is an activity you can focus on this week to help you further explore how happiness and positive emotions can benefit your life. Choose 2 positive emotions from this list. Pick one emotion that you frequently experience and the other that you may not experience that often. Now... go out and find activities that help to cause that emotion. Fully embrace the emotion. How does this emotion feel in your body? What thoughts come to your mind while you are in that emotion?

Some of us are naturally drawn to things that bring us positive emotions and happiness. Some of us need to work at it. I am one that needs to work at it. But that's okay! Join me on my journey to experience more happiness and positive emotion by engaging in these easy to follow activities.

Go and be happy!
