Reconnect with Your True Self Through Yoga Therapy
Do you feel pulled in a thousand directions—restless in mind and body, or lost in a fog of disconnection? At Peace Humanistic Therapy, I offer Yoga Therapy as a path to quiet the "mental chatter" (Chitta Vritti) and return to a felt sense of peace. Whether you are navigating ADHD, anxiety, or trauma recovery, these ancient practices provide a modern bridge to healing your nervous system.
SO IF YOU’RE READY TO RECONNECT WITH YOUR PURUSHA—YOUR TRUE SELF—LET’S BEGIN THIS JOURNEY TOGETHER.
hi. I’m Dr.cristina louk.
My Yoga Journey: From Performance to Presence
I began my yoga journey in the 1980s, growing up in a small Northern California town as a teenage ballet dancer. Like many, I first approached yoga as just another form of physical training—a way to stretch, strengthen, and improve my form. I discovered yoga through a TV broadcast, following a flow-based program right after my daily aerobics class, and eventually added Kundalini practices into the mix. I loved it, but I didn’t yet understand the deeper purpose of the practice.
For years—through my twenties dabbling with Light on Yoga and the Yoga Sutras, and later in my thirties as a devoted Hot Yoga practitioner—I still viewed yoga through the lens of performance. Posture mattered more than presence. Alignment mattered more than how I actually felt in my body.
But in my fifties, everything changed. After walking through a long and painful dark night of the soul, I returned to yoga—this time, not as exercise, but as a path back to Purusha, my true Self.
Now, yoga is no longer something I "do"—it's something I live. My asana practice is grounded in honoring my body, not pushing its limits. The teachings of the Yoga Sutras guide my inner work, helping me heal from trauma, quiet my ADHD mind, and reconnect with the deep stillness that lives beneath all the noise.
I have found what I was searching for all along: peace, presence, and purpose.
And now, I offer yoga not as a performance—but as a therapeutic, spiritual, and deeply human path of healing. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, trauma, attention issues, or disconnection from yourself, I invite you to explore this path with me.
Together, we’ll move beyond the poses and into the heart of what yoga was always meant to be: a return to the Self.
